Why the top band looks like this

Every food gets one of four bands, and the band tells you how much.

What decides the band is how close the food is to the state God created it in, and how much of what your body is actually built from is in it.

That is why animal foods sit at the top. Humans ate at the top of the food chain for thousands of years, and meat, fish, eggs and dairy carry those nutrients in the form the body can actually use. Plants and grains are welcome. They are just not what you are built from.

Fruit

dried fruit (with sugar)

Keep to a minimum

Factory sweetness.

Concentrated added sugar, with none of the fiber and structure that nature wraps its own sweetness in.

Nutrient Richness Low
Processing Level High
Harm Load High

Better choices

  • Fruit

    • Fresh whole fruit: apples, pears, berries, dates, mango, peaches…
  • Natural sweeteners, a spoonful rather than a pour

    • Raw honey
    • Maple syrup
  • Creamy treat

    • Full-fat yogurt with a drizzle of honey
    • Real cheese with fruit
Why this rule exists

Nature delivers sweetness wrapped in fiber, water, and micronutrients (which slow absorption, trigger satiety, and keep blood sugar stable. Factory sweets concentrate it into a pure hit with none of the structure. The goal is not to avoid sweetness) it's to get it the way God made it. Moderation, not deprivation.
